This is an excerpt from a letter, dated February 20, 2009, sent to Kendrick from Myrtha Licht's daughter, Peg Lawson: Dear Ken, Early in January, my sister-in-law, Marcia, and brother-in-law, Al, were at your church for a funeral and Marcia was looking over the literature in the pew and saw my mom's name on the Myrtha B. Licht Fund and apparently spoke with you after the service. She called us as soon as she got back to their home in Massachusetts to tell us of her delightful, unexpected surprise.
You can only imagine the complete and utter thrill we felt upon seeing and reading about this wonderful, and totally appropriate memorial in our mother's name! We had, of course, known of the love and professional regard toward her, felt by all those who knew her, both in Guilford as well as in Westchester, but to think that her name lives on in your church under such a fitting banner as a "Joyful Noise" - well, there are no words to describe how much it means to us to know that she is still remembered so lovingly. Please send warm regards from us to all those who would still remember her. And to you, as well, Ken, warm regards and wishes for a fulfilling year ahead in your beautiful church, which holds some very poignant memories for our family. Sincerely, Peg (Licht) Lawson
