WHAT IS THE RATE ON YOUR SHORT TERM MONEY?

In order to reduce the financing cost of our mortgage (about 5.75%) would anyone consider making a loan to our church to reduce this cost?  The interest rate you would receive is 110% of an average of the semi-annual midterm and long term AFR rate.  For 2012, this rate is 2.25%.  Thus, you would receive above market interest rates on a short term basis and help the church at the same time.

NEW TO FIRST CHURCH OR SEEK TO BECOME A MEMBER?

We welcome to our church life all who seek the presence of God, no matter where you are on your faith journey.  We offer Inquirers’ Meetings to those interested in learning more about First Church and the United Church of Christ.  These meetings are also for those who seek membership, and are especially helpful to those coming from a different denomination or faith background.  The Inquirer/

New Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6th at 11:30am in the Minear Library in Spencer House. Child care is available; please call the Church Office to request it.  Light refreshments will be offered.  New members will be received on May 13th during the 10:00am service. If you have questions, please speak with a minister.
