No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey,
you are welcome here -- at First Church Guilford.

Where in the COMMUNITY is OUR CHURCH?

We can be found in New Haven at Columbus House, a shelter for the homeless, the first Thursday of every month.  That is the evening we prepare and serve dinner to the shelter clients, usually between sixty and one hundred adults.

Church members also give underwear and socks for Columbus House clients as offerings under our church Christmas tree.

Columbus House is best known as an emergency shelter but it offers much more.  It provides comprehensive counseling services that address the root causes of homelessness and help people move toward recovery and independence.  It also provides supportive housing initiatives that include transitional apartments for women while they get back on their feet and apartments for homeless veterans.

During this cold winter, we realize the vital services Columbus House provides.
