CROP WALK, 2009

Early in January a check for $1,054.61 was received from the Guilford High School Interact Club as the last contribution to the Guilford/Madison 2009 CROP Walk.  That money brought this year's total to $21,068, the fourth highest in the 11 year history.of our community CROP Walk. This money went to Church World Service and will be used to reduce hunger in the world, for development and disaster relief including tragedies like the recent Haitian Earthquake. One fourth of the total stays in the community and is divided among the Guilford Interfaith Ministries, Christian Community Action in New Haven and Madison Community Services.   A big thank you is due Karin McNamara, coordinator for our church; the Pilgrim Fellowship and their leader. Terri Cane; and the many others in our congregation who helped to make this year's Walk a success.  Many folks around the world will have fuller lives thanks to our efforts and contributions.  The 2010 CROP Walk is scheduled for October 2.
