Pilgrim Fellowship: Regular meeting tonight, 7pm in Fellowship Hall. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Bob Sawyer with his much anticipated presentation on 2012.

Unclaimed Dishes & Pots await retrieval on the table in Fellowship Hall.  If you’ve contributed some food to Harvest Fair or Soup & Bread Supper, please check the table to pick up what is yours.  Those not claimed will be ‘contributed’ to the Spring Rummage Sale.  Thanks!

Red Tent Meeting on Saturday, Jan. 9th from 9 – 11:30am in the Pavilion Room at Evergreen Woods in North Branford.  We will have our long-awaited discussion of The Shack.  Red Tent is a spiritual reflection & fellowship group and is open to any woman who wishes to participate.  For more information, please call Penelope at 203-453-2516.

In the next several weeks, try to see the film Invictus, about Nelson Mandela and the process for ending apartheid in South Africa.  Church member Craig Mullett, a South African by birth, was there during that time and will share his experiences with us at the Adult Forum on Sunday, Jan. 24th.  Also try to read Three Cups of Tea in preparation for our All Church Read: Dinner and Discussion Mon. Feb 8th.  There is also a young reader’s version as well as a children’s book, Listen to the Wind.  They are available in the Minear Library in Spencer House on the mantel.

Food Bank Needs: toiletries; 100% fruit juices; canned fruit, tuna, ham, hash, stews; pancake/meal/potato/cake mixes; boxed mac & cheese; dry milk, canned tomato products, dry cereal.

Christmas Tree Recycling: Boy Scout Troop 471 will accept trees on Saturdays, Jan. 9th & 16th 9am – 2pm at the Guilford Transfer Station, Pinchbeck’s Rose Farm and Dudley Farm.  Fee $5 each.  Trees will be chipped and used as fuel at a local flower grower and as mulch on town trials.  Call 203-457-4291 for more information.

We welcome to our church life all who seek the presence of God, no matter where you are on your faith journey.  We offer Inquirers’ Meetings to those interested in learning more about First Church and the United Church of Christ.  These meetings are also for those who seek membership, and are especially helpful to those coming from a different denomination or faith background.  The Inquirer/

New Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6th at 11:30am in the Minear Library in Spencer House. Child care is available; please call the Church Office to request it.  Light refreshments will be offered.  New members will be received on May 13th during the 10:00am service. If you have questions, please speak with a minister.
