Pilgrim Fellowship Director Job Opening: The First Congregational Church is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as Director of its high school youth group, the Pilgrim Fellowship. The mission of PF is to create a broad-based and close-knit fellowship, provide an atmosphere where the moral and faith issues of the day can be explored, give opportunity for youthful exuberance and the joy of life to be fully expressed, and to serve those in need. With assistance from a team of well-seasoned adult volunteers, the Director will plan and lead regular Sunday evening meetings (academic year) of approximately 60-100 teens, organize local service projects, retain relevant speakers as necessary, coordinate fundraising efforts, and conduct an annual mission trip during April school vacation. Calling All Crafters! The Harvest Fair crafts group will meet Thursday, June 18th in Griswold Hall, 6:00-8:00pm. Please bring ideas, samples of crafts, and your enthusiasm to our brainstorming session. Expertise is not required (really!), and we welcome new faces!
Journeys in a Jet Age- our summer program for children entering grades 1 – 7 will be held Monday, August 3 - Thursday, August 6. Ride to Kohl’s Plaza, Branford – a Greater New Haven Transit bus picks up passengers every Thursday at 10am at the Guilford Community Center and transports them to Kohl’s – not just for seniors! Return trip pick up at Kohl’s is 1:00pm. Cost $1.25 each way ($.60 each way for seniors) - must have correct change. Children 12 & younger must be accompanied by an adult.

We offer Inquirers’ Meetings to those interested in learning more about First Church and the United Church of Christ. These meetings are also for those who seek membership, and are especially helpful to those coming from a different denomination or faith background. The Inquirer/
New Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6th at 11:30am in the Minear Library in Spencer House. Child care is available; please call the Church Office to request it. Light refreshments will be offered. New members will be received on May 13th during the 10:00am service. If you have questions, please speak with a minister.
