Alpha Club Meeting Tuesday, May 26 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Diane Wright Hirsch, University of Connecticut Extension Service Educator, will speak about safe food handling for large groups and food safety in the summer. All are welcome! (Note earlier time.)

Sunday Morning Bible Study – Next Sunday May 31 at 9:00am in the Minear Library in Spencer House. Sandra Wiens will conclude this month’s study of hospitality as found in the Old and New Testaments using Letty Russell’s Just Hospitality: God’s Welcome in a World of Difference. Join us!

Pinchbeck Scholarships: Applications are available for the William E. & Harriet W. Pinchbeck scholarship. The criteria for selection of recipients are that the scholarship money be used annually to assist needy and deserving students in obtaining their education, including postgraduate education. Applicants need not be affiliated with First Congregational Church, or reside in Guilford. The Board of Deacons will make the selections. Application forms are in a marked folder on the Church Office door. Completed applications must be received in the Church Office by June 1st. Prisoner Art Show: through May 31 at the John Slade Ely House Art Center in New Haven. Includes artwork by women from York Correctional Institution.

Community Dining Room Wed. Night Takeout: CDR offers a nutritious take-out dinner to local families who have been impacted by the economy, lost a job, or had work hours reduced. We welcome to our church life all who seek the presence of God, no matter where you are on your faith journey.  We offer Inquirers’ Meetings to those interested in learning more about First Church and the United Church of Christ.  These meetings are also for those who seek membership, and are especially helpful to those coming from a different denomination or faith background.  The Inquirer/

New Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6th at 11:30am in the Minear Library in Spencer House. Child care is available; please call the Church Office to request it.  Light refreshments will be offered.  New members will be received on May 13th during the 10:00am service. If you have questions, please speak with a minister.
