ANNOUNCEMENTS

Worship CDs Missing: If you borrowed the CD made of last week’s (May 11) worship service, please return it to the Church Office in Spencer House. We ask that you please do not take the CD from the Sanctuary after worship but wait until it can be signed out from the Spencer House. That way we know where the CDs are and can call to have them returned if needed. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Open House Today after the 10:00am service: the Christian Education Search Committee seeks your input. You are invited to come to CSB Room # 5 (across from Daphne’s office) to discuss your ideas, complete a survey, or just share thoughts about our current Christian Education ministry. Please stop by! If you are unable to stop today, please take the time to complete the enclosed survey and return it to the Church Office. Thank you!

‘Hope Springs Eternal’ Concert Today 4 pm in our Sanctuary benefits The Cove for Grieving Children. Presented by School for Strings cellist Ann West & students, pianists Rosemarie Tamburri, Kris Iverson and Vicky Reeve; violinist Catherine Dailey, our Junior Choir and others. Free will offering. Photos Needed for the new pictorial directory we are planning. We need photographs of usual happenings and special events around the church. If you have pictures or digital images you can share, please give them to Kendrick. Sittings are set for August and November; the sittings in August are especially to accommodate families with college students: August dates are: Fri., August 8th 3:30 – 9:00pm and Sat., August 9th noon-5pm.

Alpha Club Meeting: Their next meeting is on Tuesday, May 27th at 7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. The CT Women of the UCC are working with Church World Service on a project called Giving Hope, which is assisting African Street children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Jennifer Peterson of Southbury, coordinator of Giving Hope will present the story with artifacts and power point. All are welcome!

Service of Prayer and Healing Wednesday, May 28th at 7:00pm: All are invited to this peaceful and reflective service which focuses on prayer and healing. Prayers are silent and spoken, music is meditative and we offer the laying on of hands and anointing with oil for those who desire it. Near this time of the summer solstice we, who are people of the Light, seek healing and wholeness for the broken ones and the dark times and places around the world.

Continuing the Sacred Conversation: We do plan on actively pursuing our sacred conversation on race in America with multiple programs in the fall. If you are interested in being on a committee to plan some of these programs, please contact Kendrick.

Pinchbeck Scholarships: Applications are being accepted for the William E. & Harriet W. Pinchbeck scholarship. Forms are in a manila envelope on the Church Office door. Completed applications are due in the Church Office by June 1st. Recipients will be notified in early June. For information, call Gail Thompson at 458-7938.
