Our Annual Meeting immediately follows this worship service.  All are encouraged to participate in the ‘Congregational Way’ at work!  The pink Book of Reports 2007 is available in the narthex, as well as the Bylaws revisions and a few other handouts not included in the Book of Reports.  Every voice may be heard, however only Church members may vote.  Child-care is available (see next paragraph.)  All are invited to the Annual Luncheon provided by the Board of Deaconesses following the Meeting.  

Child Care During Annual Meeting:  Infants and babies will be in the nursery.  Older children will watch a movie in the Chapel.  Parents are asked to come out of church briefly at the end of worship to insure the Church School staff knows which children they will be responsible for, and that the children are in the right room.

Deacons’ Fund Collection:  In the pew rack you will find Deacons’ Discretionary Fund envelopes.  Contributions are used by our ministers to meet urgent needs in our community.  Thank you.

Deaconess for February is Mary Torello (453-5038).  Please notify her of births, adoptions, or anyone who may need a note of sympathy or encouragement.  For information about our Prayer Shawl Ministry, please call Pam Welch (458-2340.)  Audiotapes of Sunday worship services are available to sign out in Spencer House.

Important Cancellation:  The Shrove Pancake Supper originally scheduled for tomorrow, February 4th has been cancelled.

Blanket the World with Love::  During February every family is invited to donate $5 to purchase a Church World Service blanket or basic tools to help another family in need somewhere in the world.  There are CWS envelopes in the pews, and there is also a collection jar in the narthex.  You may pay with cash or a check payable to First Congregational Church (memo: blankets).

To the members of the First Congregational Church of Guilford, Inc.:

The Annual Business Meeting of the First Congregational Church of Guilford, Inc., will be held on Sunday morning, February 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary, directly following the 10:00 a.m. service to:
1.  Receive and act upon the reports and recommendations of the Ministers,
2.  Receive and act upon the reports and recommendations of Boards, Committees, and organizations of the church,
3.  Act upon the proposed 2008 Budget for Current Expenses and Community and World Concerns as submitted by Church Council,
4.  Act on the proposed Bylaw revisions submitted by Church Council,
5.  Act on the proposed agreement between Linda and Peter Carleton and the First Congregational Church submitted by Church Council,
6.  Receive the report of the Nominating Committee and act upon their recommendations for Officers and Members of Boards and Committees of the Church.

Note:  Because of time constraints at the Annual Meeting, we encourage everyone to be familiar with the Bylaws Change Summary in Appendix A and the Overview, the Proposed Agreement and related documents in Appendix B.
