The flowers today are given in celebration of Gladys Minear’s 105th birthday by her family.  Her daughter, Anita, said that Gladys would very much appreciate cards from her church family.  There is a card in the narthex you may sign, or you may mail your own birthday greetings to Gladys at 64 Farm View Dr., Guilford.

Deaconess for July is Mary Norris (203-457-9483.)  Please make her aware of new births, adoptions, or anyone who needs a note of encouragement or sympathy.  Mary is also the contact for information about our Prayer Shawl Ministry.  New knitters or crocheters are always welcome!   Materials are provided.

Deacon for July is Walter Ostroski (203-453-0767.)  If you have questions, concerns or compliments, please speak with him.

Calling All Crafters!  We cut, we glue, we stitch some, too! The Craft Group makes items to sell at the Handcrafts table at the Harvest Fair in November, and we need your help!  New faces and ideas are welcome.  We will meet on Wednesdays, Aug. 3 & 17, 6-8pm in Room 9.  Please join us for creativity & fellowship.  Let us know if you would like a project to work on at home. Euchre Card Night, Friday August 5th.  Instead of the second Saturday, we're going to try the first Friday this time.  First-timers or long-timers, single or with a partner… everyone is welcome!  We meet in Griswold Hall (2nd floor of the Church School Bldg .  Come at 6:15 for a lesson/refresher, or at 6:45 to play for the evening.  Popcorn provided; bring a snack or soft drink to share if you wish.  Contact Geoff Fix of Welcoming & Inclusion 203- 458-0438.

Silver Lake Attendees?  Due to a staff change at Silver Lake, we did not receive the listing of First Church children and youth conferees this summer.  If your child will be at Silver Lake and you’d like for them to receive a card from First Church folks, please call the Church Office and we will put the names and address in the bulletin.

Guilford Friendly Visiting Seeks Volunteers:  Currently there are 8 residents who have requested a weekly visitor.  If you can give an hour a week to a Guilford resident, call Lori Wells 203-453-8359.
