Almighty God, who governs the nations with justice and mercy: accept our thanksgiving for this land in all its promise and chaos, failure and fulfillment, and hold in your steadfastness the sweep, height and hope that is America.  Help us to honor those who have broken and cleared the way before us.  Keep our hearts glad and grateful for the dead and the living who gave and continue to give their talent, service, and life itself to the dream of this nation as sanctuary for the oppressed and homeland for the free.

Leader:    Lord, if we are going to be peacemakers in this world, we must remember to make peace among ourselves.
People:    Break down the walls that separate us, and unite us in hope and love.

Leader:    Lord, you made the world and everything in it; you created the human race of one stock and gave us the earth for our possession.

Living Out The Parable of the Talents:

• Foto Art from Around the World – on display in Fellowship Hall.  These were taken on Clyde & Betsy Work’s trips over the years.
• Volunteers & Vendors Needed for Church Craft Fair June 4th.  Any time/help you can give during the day would be appreciated!  Also, tables are available to rent; pass the word to crafters & business owners you know!  Contact Jackie Fix (458-0438) or see the Talents bulletin board for more details.
• Plant Sale Saturday, June 4th & Sunday, June 5th 10am -4pm each day on the Church Lawn.  The flowers, vegetable plants and hanging baskets will be from the North Guilford Nursery.  All profits will go to First Church.  Please come and buy some of the beautiful plants to enhance your house while at the same time supporting our exciting church.  Debbie Peluse 453-5517

Grocery Cards: The church receives a percentage of every card purchased for Big Y, Stop & Shop, or Bishop’s.  $100, $50 & $25 cards available.  Purchase cards after worship on Sundays: look for Bob Howard after the 8:30 service, or Joe Catino or Shannon Clarkson in Fellowship Hall after the 10:00 service.

Guilford Food Bank Needs: 100% fruit juices; canned fruit, tuna, ham, hash, stews; pancake/meal/potato/cake/mac & cheese mixes; dry milk, cereal.  You may leave your donations in the narthex.
