PRELUDE: Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan Walther, Bach,
chorale preludes based on Hymn #243 Karg-Elert
WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS
INTROIT: Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est Taizé / Peloquin
(Where communion and love abide, God is there.)
Faith, hope and love, let these endure among us, And the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13; 1 John 4:16-17
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Leader: Breathe a Sabbath in us, God, that we may remember creation. White stars, cold and bright, hard frost, first
crocus, April stirrings of rabbits and robins.
People: Lead us into a Sabbath, God, that we may experience your law. Guide us to the holiness of not-doing. Walk with us in the quiet pacing of obedience, where joy begins.
Leader: Lend us a Sabbath bounty, God, that we may open to ease the burdens of others and offer gentle laughter to the weary.
People: Walk with us this Sabbath that we may choose healing. Feed us the sacred bread we need to grow.
All: Abide with us this Sabbath, that we may touch the human in You and the Holy in ourselves, and so be filled with grace for this and all our days, Amen

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Seder Meal offered on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall. This Passover Meal is what Jesus and his disciples celebrated at the Last Supper. The Jews have celebrated this meal ever since their release from slavery in Egypt. It is a family celebration, a meal that tells one of our core sacred stories. It is our great privilege that Rabbi Hesch Sommer will lead us. We have space for 100, and 45 seats are already taken by those who have attended the Lenten programs. This leaves 55 spots for anyone in the congregation. This is very suitable for children. In addition to the symbolic foods, the main course will include turkey, potatoes au gratin and broccoli. There is no charge, but a basket will be available for free-will offerings. Please sign up in the Narthex if you wish to attend. If you have questions, please talk to Kendrick or Clare.
Associate Minister Search: As a means to gather input from the congregation for the Church profile and job description, the Search Committee will offer “fireside chats,” as well as ask members to complete an inventory available online via the link on our website: http://www.firstchurchguilford.org, or in hard copy on the table in the Narthex. All are invited to attend a Fireside Chat with members of the Search Committee. Three will be offered: Sunday, April 10th in the Chapel at 11:30am; Monday, April 11th at 10am in the Minear Library and again that evening at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall. If you have questions, please contact Pamela Dear, Kim Beckett or Shannon Clarkson.

Let them know that they are thought of and held in prayer by the congregation. Please send the letters to Salisha Miller, PF Director.
