Service of Prayer and Healing on Wednesday, July 21st 7:00pm – Please join us in the Sanctuary for this special service of prayer.  Laying on of hands and anointing with oil are offered to those who so choose.  All are welcome.

Harvest Fair Crafts Group will meet Wednesday, July21 at 6 p.m. in Room 9 (2nd floor of the Church School Bldg.)  No special skills are needed and everyone is welcome!  If you cannot attend workshops but would be willing to assemble some small items at home, please let us know.   If you have ideas for craft items appropriate to sell at our table we’d love to hear about them!  Please call Mary Norris (203-457-9483) or Yvette Howard (203-453-9953).

Journeys in a Jet Age: Tu Han, Dios, Kimisama, and Allah are all words for God in the countries of Indonesia, Brazil, Japan and Pakistan where First Church Journeys participants will travel to via worship, crafts, snacks, skits and games beginning Monday, Aug. 2nd through Thursday, Aug. 5th, 9:00 am until 12noon  It is not too late to register -- call Betsy Work (203-458-7708) or the church office (203-453-5249).

Summer Nursery Volunteers Needed to staff the nursery during the 10am service in July and August as our regular care-givers take a break. From the UCC Calendar of Prayer for July (brought to your attention by the Board of Community and World Concerns):  Sometimes it is easier to recognize and address the needs of those removed from us, rather than admit our own neighbors are in dire need.  The advisor to a Habitat for Humanity group at Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, noted that student volunteers routinely went to Thailand and the Philippines to build homes for the homeless.  But only recently has a student sub-group begun to provide support for those without homes in Kyoto, connecting homeless with government social services, and, more importantly, connecting with the people they are trying to help – sharing a cup of tea, taking time to talk and to show they care.

Big Y, Bishop’s Orchards, & Stop & Shop Cards: Each Sunday after worship these gift cards are available for purchase for $100 each– in cash or with a check made payable to First Congregational Church.  The church receives a percentage of each card sold.

Guilford Food Bank Needs: 100% fruit juices; canned fruit, tuna, ham, hash, stews; pancake/meal/potato/cake mixes; boxed mac & cheese; dry milk, canned tomato products, dry cereal.  You may bring your donations to worship and leave them in the narthex.
