No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey,
you are welcome here -- at First Church Guilford.

Melita Welcome House

First Church has had a long history of work with refugees, dating from helping with Viet Nam refugees of the 1980s.  More recently, Linda and Peter Carleton, with help from a large number of church members, have established Melita Welcome House to provide temporary assistance to refugees arriving from around the world.  Melita House is a large home in Guilford that was donated for this express purpose.

More details on Melita House are available through this link

The shape of the Melita program has changed considerably since 9/11 and other recent developments.  Our Melita House Committee is working to redefine our directions for the future.
