Spiritual and Religious: The Shape of Congregations for a Vital Future
Theologian in Residence Weekend
October 15-17

Diana Butler Bass, specialist in congregations and church history, is this year’s featured lecturer at First Church Guilford.  The program begins Friday, Oct 15 at 7:30pm and continues with three lectures on Saturday, beginning at 9 and ending at 3, with lunch included.  Dr. Bass will then preach at both services on Sunday.  In her own words she is “an author who explores the dimensions of religion and spirituality in today’s world. I write books, columns, and blogs, all aimed to help people understand faith both analytically and personally.

“I am a teacher and speaker working to educate both people of faith and the general public about the importance, the depth, and the complexity of religion and spirituality in history, culture, and political life.

“I am a person of faith, a Christian, who attempts to live the generative, inviting, inclusive, and transforming practices at the heart of Christianity that can heal the world.”  The Saturday fee will be $15 which includes lunch, and scholarships are available.
