First Church

First Church has a large and active Christian Education activity.

First Church is participating in the Shoreline Resettlement Alliance, a partnership with The Resettlement Program, Community Partners in Action, Hartford, CT and in cooperation with an alliance of Shoreline Connecticut religious communities, and the Epiphany mentoring program, UCONN Cooperative Extension System.

First Church Guilford presents a quality music program for all ages, a long-standing tradition. The program offers varied opportunities for experiencing music and spirituality through vocal, instrumental and bell choirs and educational classes.

First Church, through its Peace, Affirmation, and Justice Committee, actively seeks to understand and to witness how we can best serve the least among us, and, indeed, all our neighbors in Christ. In our daily life, there are countless opportunities to build the peaceable Kingdom.

The Pilgrim Fellowship program, with the leadership of Michael Dalton, provides challenge and fellowship to high-school age youth with mission trips, local service events, and fund-raising.

First Church has had a long history of work with refugees, dating from helping with Viet Nam refugees of the 1980s and continuing with our current Melita Welcome House ministry.
