 The Peace, Affirmation, and Justice Committee
As part of our Support Our Troops Effort, PAJ will be donating money for phone cards for hospitalized veterans this holiday season. This program is being sponsored by Veterans for Peace and Credo Action. - The phone cards will be given to hospitalized veterans.
- $10 will purchase 120 minutes each for three veterans.
If you would like to contribute, you can give cash or checks to PAJ members who will be in the narthex and Fellowship Hall on Dec. 16 after the service. Please make checks out to First Church - PAJ PAJ members believe that supporting our troops isn't about sending them to Iraq to referee a civil war and protect oil supplies. It is about deploying them wisely - about thoughtfully and safely bringing most of them home while creating and supporting an international effort to help Iraq build a future. It is about honoring our nation's promises regarding veterans’ medical care, and trying to repay in some small way the debt of gratitude we all owe them.
