Thinking you won't be able to learn to play euchre? Don't worry! Come for the fellowship, and you might be pleasantly surprised that it's not too difficult! Have card-playing friends who don't belong to First Church? Bring them along!
Please join us in Griswold Hall (2nd floor of the Church School Building) on Saturday April 9th for an evening of progressive card playing. We'll have lots of popcorn, and we'll be showing "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" for the kids. Arrive by 6:15 for a lesson or refresher, or by 6:45 to play until about 9:00. Instructions on how to play euchre can be found here as a "pdf" and here as a "doc" file.
Euchre was "widely regarded as the national card game" in the 19th century. For more fascinating information on the game, check out the Wikipedia article.
