The High School Chancel Choir from Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, Illinois will present a concert in the Sanctuary of the First Congregational Church, Guilford, on Saturday, June 12th at 7:30pm. The choir is made up of 40 singers on their annual summer mission tour. This choir of high school students from the Bloomington/Normal area rehearses weekly, sings every Sunday morning in the worship service and has appeared in concert extensively throughout the United States and Canada. This choir has a rich tradition of touring; singing at churches, hospitals, baseball games, and retirement homes as well as the Statue of Liberty. 2010 is the 41st year of mission tours for the Chancel Choir.
Responding to God’s love, the young people represent God’s love in a positive, meaningful and dynamic way through music. Thus, the purpose of the tour is to serve the church by sharing a closer fellowship with sister churches and to project a role youth can take in the leadership and growth of the church.
The program will include a variety of music styles that will appeal to everyone. Come share in an uplifting Christian celebration with the Chancel Choir at this free public concert.
