Joyful Noise! and Memorial Concerts, 2011-2012 |

The First Church community is invited to another great season of Joyful Noise!
Sunday March 11th at 4:00 p.m. Bill Welch and Friends Accomplished guitarist, singer, and First Church member, Bill Welch welcomes a few close friends along with his daughter, Kara, in a concert to feature many well known standards, classic rock and pop songs, and a few Broadway tunes as well. Brian Gillie will be joining in on vocals and at the piano for what is sure to be an incredibly fun and varied concert – perhaps even with a sing-along or two……
5th Annual Memorial Concert Sunday April 15, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. And don’t miss our 5th Annual Memorial Concert featuring First Church’s own Director of Music Ministries, Bill Speed, along with several special guest musicians. We very much look forward to offering you a five week Wednesday evening Lenten program this year. During our first session we will view the PBS film “Journey of the Universe: and Epic Story of Cosmic, Earth and Human Transformation.” This film and book project is a collaboration of evolutionary philosopher Brian Thomas Swimme and historian of religion Mary Evelyn Tucker. They weave a tapestry that draws together scientific discoveries in astronomy, geology, and biology with humanistic insights concerning the nature of the universe.
